Sergeant Major Darryl Sisneros entered through the gates of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in February 1986 and graduated from Hotel Company in April 1986. After graduation Private First Class Sisneros was ordered to Millington, Tennessee as a Basic Ordnanceman. After school Private First Class Sisneros was ordered for a follow on school in Yuma, Arizona.
In September 1987 Lance Corporal Sisneros was ordered to Marine Air Group 15, HAMS-15 in Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni Japan as an Aviation Ordnance Munitions Technician. Lance Corporal Sisneros deployed to the Philippines and Team Spirit in Korea.
In 1988 Lance Corporal Sisneros transferred to Marine Wing Support Squadron 173, 29 Palms, California. Lance Corporal Sisneros worked in the Center Magazine Area during his tour and was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal.
In 1990 Corporal Sisneros received orders to Squadron Magazine Area, Station Weapons Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, California. Headquarters. Corporal Sisneros was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He was then attached to 2nd Fleet Service Support Group and deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Storm in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. After his return he was reassigned to Station Weapons MCAS El Toro.
In 1993 Sergeant Sisneros received orders directing him to Drill Instructor School Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. After completion of school, he was assigned to Lima Company Third Battalion. He graduated 12 platoons during his time as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor.
After his tour at MCRD he returned to MCAS El Toro, Station Weapons where he was assigned as the Ordnance Chief. In 1996 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and was transferred during the base closure of MCAS El Toro and was moved to MCAS Miramar, Ordnance Division.
In 1998 Gunnery Sergeant Sisneros received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island after a refresher course at Drill Instructor School he was assigned to Bravo Company First Battalion. He served as a Senior Drill Instructor, Series Gunnery Sergeant. During his tour he moved to Drill Instructor School as the Drill Master for D.I school. In 1999 he moved to Headquarters Recruit Training Regiment as the Regimental Drill Master.
In December 2001 Gunnery Sergeant Sisneros was transferred to Marine Air Logistics Squadron 36 Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa Japan.
He was assigned to the Ordnance Division as the Ordnance Chief; he was then assigned as the Squadron Gunnery Sergeant for MALS-36.
In 2003 Gunnery Sergeant Sisneros was selected to the rank of First Sergeant and was assigned to 1st Stinger Battery Marine, Air Control Squadron 18, First Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa Japan.
In July 2005 First Sergeant Sisneros was transferred to Third Battalion Fifth Marines, Kilo Company Camp Pendleton California as Company First Sergeant.
In January 2006 he was then in receipt of orders to Headquarters Battery, Eleventh Marines, First Marine Division Camp Pendleton California as the Battery First Sergeant.
First Sergeant Sisneros was promoted to his present rank of Sergeant Major in February 2007 and reported to Second Battalion, Fourth Marines First Marine Division Camp Pendleton California as the Battalion Landing Team Sergeant Major. He deployed to OIF 5-7.2 with the Fifteenth Marine Expeditionary Unit and with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2008.
In July 2008 Sergeant Major Sisneros was transferred to Marine Medium Helicopter Training Squadron 164, Marine Aircraft Group 16 Third Marine Aircraft Wing Camp Pendleton California as the Squadron Sergeant Major.
In April 2010 Sergeant Major Sisneros Was transferred to Marine Aircraft Group 16, Third Marine Aircraft Wing Miramar California as the Group Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Sisneros personal decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal 3d Award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal 2d Award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal 2d Award.
