Major Jordan A. Reyes

Second Lieutenant Jordan Reyes was born in San Antonio, TX. He entered the Naval ROTC program at the University of Texas at Austin in 2009. Upon graduating Officer Candidate School in August 2012, and earning a BA in Kinesiology, he was commissioned in May 2013.

In November 2013, Second Lieutenant Reyes reported to Company B, The Basic School, in Quantico, Virginia. In June 2014, Second Lieutenant Reyes reported to Marine Corps Communications and Electronics School in Twentynine Palms, California. Upon graduation, he earned the military occupational specialty of 7208, Air Support Control Officer and received orders to 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan.

Second Lieutenant Reyes reported to Marine Air Support Squadron 2 in October 2014. First Lieutenant Reyes was assigned as Platoon Commander within Air Support Company and in 2016, was reassigned as Executive Officer for the Company. At MASS-2, First Lieutenant Reyes earned qualifications as Helicopter Director, Tactical Air Director, Air Support Element Officer in Charge, and Air Support Liaison Team OIC supporting Korean Military Exchange Program, Balikatan, Integrated Training Exercise, and numerous MAW/Division exercises.

In 2017, Captain Reyes reported to Marine Corps Recruiting Command, Recruiting Station Houston where he served as Executive Officer for the duration of tour within 8th Marine Corps District's largest Recruiting Station. RS Houston earned RS of the Year in MCRC in FY 2020.

Following recruiting duty, Captain Reyes reported to Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico in June of 2020. During this assignment, Captain Reyes received orders to report to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 38 aboard MCAS Miramar upon graduation.

Captain Reyes reported to MTACS-38 in July 2021 as the Future Operations Officer. Later that year, he led as the action officer during the divestment of MTACS-38 in accordance with Force Design 2030, and establishment of Tactical Air Command Center Company within the Marine Air Control Group Headquarters. As the Operations Officer, the unit participated in nine major exercises and led community-wide efforts for modularized Wing command post experiments in Palau and Australia while initiating the operationalization of Wing Operations Command Center. Major Reyes was promoted to his current rank in July 2023.

In 2024, Major Reyes was designated as the Marine Air Control Group Detachment OIC for Marine Rotational Force - Darwin 24.3. This rotation saw the first deployment of tactical command and control agencies to the western side of the first island chain, a disaggregated deployment and numerous OAIs within INDOPACOM theater. Upon redeployment, he was assigned as the Executive Officer for Marine Wing Support Squadron 373.

Major Reyes is a graduate of Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course, EWS- Resident, Amphibious Airspace Operations Course, Joint Firepower Course, and Multi-TDL Advanced Joint Interoperability Course. His personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with Gold Star in lieu of second award).
