Major William J. Knies attended boot camp in 2002 aboard San Diego, California and graduated as a Private First Class. Afterward, he attended Marine Combat Training and then proceeded to “A” school in Pensacola, FL where he was promoted to Lance Corporal. Following “A” school, he attended “C” School in Oceana, Virginia and became Aircraft

First Sergeant Headquarters Squadron 39, Marine Aircraft Group 39

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Gunnery Sergeant Borders enlisted in the Marine Corps in January 2015 and attended recruit training aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion of recruit training, Private First Class Borders attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina; and subsequently assigned to Personnel Administration School aboard Camp Johnson, North Carolina.
